John F. Schaefer to Speak on Gray Divorce

John F. Schaefer, managing partner and founder of The Law Firm of John F. Schaefer held a seminar entitled “Gray Divorce and its Causes,” at Macomb County Community College, as part of the college’s SOAR (Society of Active Retirees) Macomb initiative, a community-based lifelong learning series of non-credit courses on a variety of topics.

Schaefer, who has more than 40 years experience practicing family law, has been interviewed in the media on the rising divorce rates among seniors.

The Law Firm of John F. Schaefer was founded in 1996 and is dedicated to the practice of matrimonial and family law.  Schaefer, an internationally recognized family law expert, specializes in complex and high profile divorce cases with offices in Birmingham, Grosse Pointe and Harbor Springs.  The Michigan State University College of Law library is named after Schaefer, where he currently serves as trustee emeritus and has served as adjunct law professor for more than 30 years.  He serves,and has served on numerous boards and associations including the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, where he was past president of the Michigan chapter, and past president of the Oakland County Bar Association.
